Paint night events and art workshops in the Annapolis Valley Nova Scotia.
The Art Events
Paint Nights
A fun painting event for anyone, whether you have painting experience or not! These events are usually held in the evening, at a venue where you can purchase a glass of wine or beer to enjoy while you paint.
Art Workshops
If you’re looking for something a bit quieter, calmer and more relaxing, I’d recommend my art workshops. These take place during the day and are more focused on trying specific techniques to create a particular type of artwork. You are also more free to create your own image.
Meet The Artist

Hi, I'm Isobel
Originally from Scotland, my husband and I emigrated to Nova Scotia in 2013 and I’ve been working as a fine artist since 2018. I live in the woods on the North Mountain near Centreville in the Annapolis Valley. I’m a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and you can find my work at the Teichert Gallery and Made in the Maritimes in Halifax.

What a fun way to relax and be creative
To date, I have only participated in one night, but I enjoyed it so much, that I have signed up for another one in February. Isobel does a great job guiding you through the painting and it is great to see how different all the paintings are, even though we are all painting the same subject.
3 hours very well spent. Looking forward to the next one!
Fun evening out with friends, or a creative activity to do on your own
I have never been a ‘paint night person’, so when my friend invited me to go to one last August I only agreed because I wanted to spend time with her, and because the picture looked fun (it was a bear, with streaks of rainbow colours in its fur). I was stunned by how well my painting turned out, and how much fun I had making it!
Isobel is a wonderfully encouraging facilitator, and had the amazing idea (time-consuming, I’m sure!) of pencilling in some bare bones of the painting so that it comes out looking mostly proportional. She also always tells us that, “There will be a moment when this painting looks like nothing at all, and that’s when you have to just trust the process and keep going. It will look like something at the end.” And she’s right!
If you are looking for a fun evening out with friends, or a creative activity to do on your own, I highly recommend these paint nights.
Starry Night with Cat
This paint night took place at Tacocentric in Kentville. It was a fantastic time. There were laughs and lots of positivity. Isobel is a great artist to learn from. Can’t wait to attend another one.
Fireplace cat was great
This was my first paint night and it was excellent! I wasn’t sure what to expect but I really enjoyed it; it was a lovely atmosphere. The venue is great and Isobel is a great teacher!
